As an aside, probably better off collecting your tickets, and then making the changes in person.

ah, that clarifies it a little. would it have been cheaper for you to throw away the ticket you bought and just get a new one?

Re: Thetrainline.com
It clearly states that to make a change it costs £10

Once again why should a company (in business to make money) waste time, effort and money in changing something for nothing??

Re: Thetrainline.com
All I wanted was to pay the extra on the ticket I'd bought in error, I didn't want a refund but they wanted to charge me a tenner PLUS the extra.

I think that's a tad unreasonable but I guess because I'm a 'leftie cunt' I get all I deserve....

Marston Hammer 2:03 Mon Nov 30
Re: Thetrainline.com
your ticket was £13

they didn't have to refund you a single penny but in effect, by charging you a tenner to rebook, they've refunded you £3.

instead of saying, well i made a schoolboy error but it was good of them to give me money when they didn't have to, your attitude is that they're the biggest bunch of crooks ever and you're trying to stop people using them.

and yet you're seem somewhat surprised when people think you're a bit of a cunt.

"Willtell, fucking hell, I didn't have you down as a keyboard warrior, I bet you got the hard on when you typed the word cunt."

Just fed up with listening to your left wing bollocks on a regular basis Ray. I get a hard on when I SMELL cunt but not when I SPELL it mate....

I was more on about ray's attitude to his dilemma.

"I fucked up, and I expect trainline to bend over backwards to sort out my fuckup without charging me or anything, and if they don't, they're obviously shit".

Used to get that sort of thing all the time when I worked in customer services.

"I missed my train/lost my ticket/bought the wrong ticket and I EXPECT COMPENSATION"

It's this whole idea that we're all entitled to something for nothing in this country that gets my goat.

The customer may not be always right, but the customer always pays your wages - if you don't work for yourself, your employer is simply a transfer agency for payment in respet of work done.

This site is priceless, not an administrative error to be found among anyone it would seem.

Can't book on Nationalrail can you? It directs you for booking to a train operating company.

I find Virgin by far the best and they have no booking fee or card charges

Re: Thetrainline.com
It's just much quicker to find the info and easier to use. I don't care if it costs a little more because I am such a busy, impressive and important person that saving time means more to me than money.

Some people's "the customer is always right" attitude is fucking ridiculous it's got to be said.

Re: Thetrainline.com
The trainline uses APIs that are pretty much public I think.

They just wrap it with a site and some customer service and play on the booking early thing, which you can get from the National Rail site anyway.

You will not find a cheaper train on the Trainline over the Network Rail site I don't think.

Lee Trundle 1:20 Mon Nov 30
Re: Thetrainline.com
Quite a few have had a laugh at ray's expense. He's benefited others by using it.

mashed in maryland 1:18 Mon Nov 30
Re: Thetrainline.com
No benefit at all, although I used to find it easier to use.

One thing is true though and that is it can make it much harder to get a refund/compo if your journey is disrupted.

I know this cos I used to work in customer services for a TOC and trainline bookings were always a fucking nightmare cos their staff would tell passengers the complete wrong things.
